FlexShoe in Horizontal Boron Well

Client challenge
Perforated composite casing is needed for acid resistance for solution extraction of boron. Running 
this casing is a challenge due to:

• Passing through sidetracks
• Drag running horizontally
• Being light weight
• Circulation not possible
• Rotation not possible

Results
A 4-1/2” FlexShoe with a JetReam nose was run through cased and open-hole sidetracks in a multilateral 
horizontal well.  With near zero surface tension or hookload available to set down, the FlexShoe pushed past doglegs to set the perforated composite casing within a lateral for production.
