Insightful discussions and innovation in action at the SPE Intervention and Coiled Tubing Association (ICoTA) Well Intervention Conference and Exhibition 2026.

 Andrew French, Manager, CTS delivered a technical paper titled: “Pushing the Boundaries of Extended Reach Perforation in Horizontal Gas Wells: Advancements with Downhole Tractors and Selective Firing Systems.” The presentation explored how advances in downhole tractor technology and selective firing systems are enabling operators to achieve greater reach, improved conveyance, and more precise perforation in challenging horizontal gas wells.

A key benefit highlighted is the ability to reduce the number of runs required and therefore lower overall operating days, improving efficiency and reducing intervention time. As well complexity continues to increase, these innovations are helping drive more efficient, reliable and cost-effective well intervention operations.
